We respect your information

We collect and store data you sent us by subscribing to our newsletter or when you request a travel itinerary, quote, service or product from us. We use it only for or own communications and those necessary to place your bookings with the concerned accommodation, activity & car rental suppliers. We do not record your credit card information and we do not share your data with anyone else that is not involved in the booking process of your trip.

When we say “we,” “us,” “our,” and “Mauritius Conscious,” we are referring to Conscious Travel Ltd., a for-profit online Tour Operator based in Mauritius Island.

When we say “you,” we are referring either to a subscriber who is in our mailing list or to a person who requested information / assistance from us through a contact form in our website or social networks.

When we say “the Website”, we mean www.mauritiusconscious.com

“Personal Information” means any information that identifies or can be used to identify you, directly or indirectly, including, but not limited to, first and last name, mobile number, email address, place of residence, occupation or other demographic information.

What personal information do we collect from you?

(a) Information you voluntarily provide to us:

When you sign up to our newsletter, you are voluntarily giving us information that we collect. That information may include either your name, physical address, email address, phone number as well as details including travel preferences and other demographic information. Note that we do not store any credit card information.

(b) Information we collect automatically:

We collect cookies. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

How do we use your information?

We use the information we collect solely for Mauritius Conscious’ own communication purposes. We do not share your data with anyone that has nothing to do with the planning and booking of your travel trips and for that specific purpose. We may use your data in the following ways:

  • To personalize your travel experiences and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested.
  • To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
  • To quickly process your transactions.
  • To send periodic emails (not more than twice a month) regarding your order or other products and services related to Mauritius Conscious’ offer.
  • To send you System Alert messages or legal requirements. For example, we may inform you of temporary or permanent changes to our Services, such as planned outages, new features, version updates, releases, abuse warnings, and changes to our Privacy Policy.
  • We do not share your data with partner or advertisement organisations.

We Operate in Mauritius and we work with providers in the world

We work with Mailchimp, Prosperworks and Google Analytics to collect, store and analyse your data. Their servers and offices are located in the United States so your information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the United States. While the data protection, privacy, and other laws of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in your country, these companies most abide to the same regulations in EU shall they handle data from their citizens in a direct or indirect manner.

Accuracy and Retention of Data

We do our best to keep your data accurate and up to date, to the extent that you provide us with the information we need to do so. If your data changes (for example, if you have a new email address), then you are responsible for notifying us of those changes. Upon request, we will provide you with information about whether we hold, or process on behalf of a third party, any of your Personal Information.

How do we protect your information?

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible. We use regular Malware Scanning for that purpose.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of people who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

You acknowledge and agree that no Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error free. You agree to take special care in deciding what information you send to us via email. Third-party disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information unless we provide users with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when it’s release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property or safety.

However, no personally identifiable visitor information is provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our website through hyperlinks. These third-party sites, including our social networks, have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

We have not enabled Google AdSense on our site but we may do so in the future.

CAN SPAM Act

The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

  • Process orders and to send information and updates pertaining to orders.
  • Send you additional information related to your product and/or service
  • Market to our mailing list or continue to send emails to our clients after the original transaction has occurred.

To be in accordance with CANSPAM, we agree to the following:

  • Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.
  • Include the physical address of our business or site headquarters.
  • Monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance, if one is used.
