Our Travel Agreement

A Partnership in Crafting Your Journey

Welcome to Mauritius Conscious Travel. This document outlines our mutual commitments for the bespoke journey we are creating together. It is designed to be clear and straightforward, ensuring a foundation of trust and transparency.

By confirming your trip with us, you (the “Client”) agree to these terms with Conscious Travel Ltd (trading as “Mauritius Conscious Travel”).

1. The Booking Terms & Conditions and Payment Process

Our process is designed to be seamless, allowing us to secure the exclusive arrangements for your journey.

  • Securing Your Itinerary: To confirm your booking, a refundable* deposit of 50% of the total trip cost is required upon approval of your proposed itinerary. This allows us to secure arrangements with our local partners.
  • Final Payment: The remaining 50% balance is due 30 days before your trip start date.
  • Last-Minute Arrangements: For bookings made within 30 days of departure, the full trip cost is due upon confirmation.
  • Payment Methods: We accept payments via bank transfer or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). Please note that credit card payments will incur a processing fee of 5%.

*Cancellation terms apply.

2. Cancellations & Amendments

We understand that plans can change. Here is our policy regarding cancellations and alterations.

A. Cancellation by You

Should you need to cancel your journey, please notify us in writing. The following cancellation charges will apply, calculated from the date we receive your written notification:

    • +61 days from your trip start date: 20% of the total trip cost.
    • 31 to 60 from your trip start date: 50% of the total trip cost.
    • 0 to 30 from your trip start date: 100% of the total trip cost.

We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance to protect you against unforeseen circumstances that could result in cancellation.

B. Amendments by You

We will make every effort to accommodate reasonable changes to your itinerary after confirmation. Please be aware that amendments may incur additional costs from our partners (e.g., hotels, airlines), which will be passed on to you. An administrative fee may also apply.

C. Cancellation or Alteration by Us

We plan your journey with the utmost care, and it is rare for us to make changes. However, should unforeseen circumstances require us to significantly alter or cancel your booking, we will promptly inform you and offer you the choice of:

    1. Accepting the new arrangements.
    2. Book an alternative trip of a similar standard with us.
    3. Receiving a full refund of all monies paid to us.

We are not liable for any costs incurred for services not booked through Mauritius Conscious Travel (e.g., separate flight bookings).

3. Our Responsibilities

  • Our Commitment to You: We are responsible for ensuring that all elements of your confirmed itinerary are provided as described and to a high standard. We have carefully selected our partners based on their quality and commitment to our shared values.
  • Force Majeure: We cannot accept liability or pay compensation for unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. This includes, but is not limited to, war, natural disasters, pandemics, government travel advisories, or industrial disputes. These are known as “Force Majeure” events.

4. Your Responsibilities

  • Travel Insurance: It is a condition of booking that you and all members of your party have comprehensive travel insurance for the full duration of your trip. This policy must cover, at a minimum, medical expenses, personal liability, trip cancellation, and repatriation.
  • Travel Documents: You are responsible for ensuring that your passports, visas, and any required health certificates are valid for all countries you are visiting. Your passport should have at least six months of validity from your date of return.
  • Health Precautions: Please consult your doctor regarding any necessary vaccinations or health precautions for your chosen destinations.
  • Informing Us: Please inform us of any personal conditions or needs (e.g., dietary requirements, mobility issues) that may affect your journey so we can make the appropriate arrangements.

We are committed to protecting your personal information. By booking with us, you consent to us using your data to make arrangements for your trip. We will only share your information with our trusted partners as necessary to fulfill your travel contract. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.
