Mauritius
This 6-night journey redefines luxury travel in Mauritius by pairing absolute privacy with active environmental regeneration and deep cultural connection. It is an elemental escape—crafted to ground you in the island’s wild tropical heart.
You will hike lush canyons, navigate the lagoon alongside local fishermen on a wind-propelled pirogue, and leave a living legacy by planting endemic trees in a protected forest reserve. Your immersion will also take you to walk the hidden lanes of the capital city, Port-Louis, where you will connect the dots of our layered multicultural heritage.
Retreat each evening to the Constance Prince Maurice, a Green Globe Platinum certified hotel. Tucked into a secluded private peninsula where the Indian Ocean meets indigenous mangroves, Constance Prince Maurice is a masterclass in quiet elegance. It proves that a profound commitment to the environment can coexist effortlessly with the uncompromising seclusion of a beachfront villa, providing you with a tranquil sanctuary after days spent exploring the wilder edges of Mauritius Island.
The Volcanic Veins: Trekking the 7 Cascades
Accompanied by our private local guide, you will traverse the Tamarind Falls canyon—a breathtaking ravine carved into ancient basalt from the island’s original volcanic shield.
You will navigate dense, unmanicured forest to access a sequence of isolated cascades that collectively plunge nearly 300 metres. This is an active, visceral immersion into the island’s raw topography.
A Living Legacy: The Ebony Forest Reserve & Chamarel
In the 17th century, the Dutch heavily exploited Mauritius’ indigenous ebony trees for their dense, black heartwood. Today, the 50-hectare Ebony Forest Reserve serves as a critical restoration site.
You will hike through one of the island’s last remaining endemic sanctuaries and actively contribute to its survival by planting indigenous trees.
Descending into the valley, your afternoon shifts to the Rhumerie de Chamarel for a private tour focused on the mechanics of Rhum Agricole—a purist style distilled directly from freshly pressed sugarcane juice, accounting for less than 5% of global rum production. Blending this calibre of access with genuine regenerative impact is how we are redefining luxury travel in Mauritius.
The Quiet East: Pedalling Bras D’eau National Park
Encompassing nearly 500 hectares of rugged eastern coastline, Bras D’eau is a stark contrast to the manicured resort strips. Riding mountain bikes through the shaded mahogany and eucalyptus trails, you will trace a low-impact route past the basalt ruins of a 200-year-old French sugar mill. The reserve is remarkably silent, serving as one of the final natural habitats for the rare, endemic Mauritian Paradise Flycatcher.
The Architectural Mosaic: Port Louis on Foot
Founded by the French in 1735, the capital city is the historical and cultural engine of the Indian Ocean. Led by a local expert, this private walking tour take you to read the city’s complex narrative through its architecture and culinary heritage.
From the cobblestones of the 19th-century central market to the preserved merchant houses, it is an unfiltered look at the centuries of migration and maritime trade that built modern Mauritius.
The Nautical Archive: Sailing the Southeast Lagoon
The vast southeastern lagoon, Vieux Grand Port, is the cradle of Mauritian history and the site of the legendary 1810 naval battle between the French and the British. You will navigate this historic bay aboard a traditional wooden pirogue. Propelled entirely by the wind and the generational expertise of local mariners, this quiet, engine-free, authentic voyage is an exercise in slow travel, allowing you to experience the lagoon exactly as the early navigators did.
Tucked into a secluded peninsula on the island’s tranquil east coast, your sanctuary is a sprawling 130-square-metre Beachfront Villa. Designed to blur the line between indoor comfort and the wild coastline, it offers uninterrupted ocean views and direct access to the lagoon.
The Villa
Crafted for profound privacy, the villa features a distinct living and dining area that opens onto a furnished terrace. The exterior boasts a heated private plunge pool, while the interior is anchored by an expansive bathroom suite complete with a Whirlpool bathtub and double vanities.
Effortless Living: A dedicated Villa Master is on hand to quietly anticipate your daily rhythms. It is this level of intuitive, unobtrusive care that defines our standard for luxury travel in Mauritius. Subtle details—from a bespoke pillow menu awaiting your arrival to seamless in-villa service—ensure your time here is entirely frictionless.
The Estate: When you are not exploring the island’s wild interior, the property serves as a sophisticated retreat. You have access to a serene spa, two championship golf courses, and the most extensive wine cellar in the Indian Ocean.
Gastronomy: We intentionally design this journey on a B&B basis to grant you total culinary freedom. You can choose to experience the resort’s exceptional gastronomy—including dining at their iconic floating restaurant suspended over the mangroves—or allow us to arrange authentic, local culinary experiences as you explore the island.

1. What exactly is the private arrival/departure experience?
This service bypasses the main airport terminal entirely. If arriving on a commercial flight, you are greeted directly at the airbridge.
For private aviation, you are met on the tarmac. You are then escorted to an exclusive lounge. While you relax, dedicated officials process your immigration and retrieve your luggage on your behalf.
2. Is the 7 Cascades hike suitable for beginners?
This hike involves uneven terrain, river crossings, and steep sections. It requires a reasonable level of physical agility. Because this is a private expedition, your guide will tailor the pace to your comfort level.
3. Why is tree planting included?
As signatories of the Glasgow Declaration, we design regenerative itineraries. Planting an endemic tree in the Ebony Forest directly supports local biodiversity and leaves a tangible, positive legacy on the island.
4. Are lunches and dinners included?
This itinerary is priced on a Bed & Breakfast basis to give you complete dining flexibility. You can choose where to eat each day, and your driver and guide will facilitate any restaurant reservations you require.
5. Can this itinerary be adjusted?
Yes. This is a baseline itinerary. If you wish to add helicopter transfers, extend your stay, or adjust the activities, we will tailor the schedule to your exact requirements.
